Bill & Lisa.........Cubbies and Buffaloes, Holy Cow!

Over the few and fabulous years that I've existed I have picked a few pearls of wisdom.  Even had some of them violently thrown right in my face.  No matter the delivery of said pearls I've always tucked them away as reminders of future encounters and different ways to handle them or better yet, not handle them.  One hard yet noble truth about your narrator is that I have AMAZING instincts.  Unfortunately I always seem to ignore them.  What can you do!?

The reason I mention my uncanny ability to ignore my amazing instincts deals with the first 10 minutes of meeting the bride, Lisa, for the first time.  I noticed one of Lisa's pieces of flare was a shiny pin representing the Colorado Buffaloes, whom as a Nebraska Football fan aren't well revered by me or many of my beloved Husker Nation.  Enter my foot in mouth moment where before I even realized it I was verbally blasting Lisa's alma mater.  I put my own fire out quickly and even though my stupidity oft times can be removed from the records with a little bit of Childers charm, it wasn't necessary due to the fun loving aura of Lisa and her obvious knowledge in the subject of guys saying stupid things!

My time spent with Bill and Lisa wasn't long.  At least not long enough to explain the ease at which the three of us became friends.  These two moved through the French Quarter with a swagger I rarely see from visiting couples.  After their first look we strolled through the streets utilizing some good lighting conditions and drink specials to cool us down from the heat.  After a short yet expression filled ceremony Bill and Lisa's guests and family were treated to an epic second line by none other than The Kinfolk Brass Band.

It seemed like 2016 was a pretty solid year for them.  Their Buffaloes were back in the headlines for their football.  The Chicago Cubs, their baseball team, were in the headlines but finally for winning the World Series and their wedding, which was as much fun as anyone could pack into 6 hours, was close enough to the end of the year to consider the year a success.  Take that 2016!

Cheers,

Titus

Fleur & John....Two pieces of Flair. The Required Amount!

Have you ever met that couple that you just wanna grab and hug and squeeze because they're just so damned cute that you can barely stand it?  Well if you haven't then I suggest that you introduce yourself to my friends Fleur & John.

Fleur & John hail from the northeast which stands to reason they'd pick New Orleans for their destination wedding.  I mean last time I checked it gets cold up there.  Luckily for them they chose NOLA in September so no one was going to freeze to death.

I could tell you that they had a fantastic first look in the courtyard of Hotel Le Marais or that after a brilliant portrait session with the bride and groom, along with their wedding, they had an intimate ceremony at Latrobe's on Royal Street.  They even had New Orleans own Kinfolk Brass Band play during the reception.  What I'd really like to talk about is John's suit!  I mean for the love all that snaps, crackles and pops would you just take a moment and soak it in!  Major props to John for what I consider to be the suit of the decade.  A suit only a true man can pull off!

Regardless of Fleur and John's attire we all managed to follow their superbly dressed selves through the streets of the French Quarter, along with Kinfolk shredding yet another second line.  It was one for the ages kids!  Also, thanks for the beers after the ceremony at the Carousel Bar you two!  Don't mind if I do!

Cheers,

Titus

Will & Zachary.....All that Glitters is Gold! (Also known as...Two Grown Men Wearing Fitted shiny gold bejeweled Jackets!!)

Over the last few crazy weeks and months the tension in this country has been so thick you could cut it with a very dull letter opener.  I witnessed something that I never believed possible!  I'm talking about the Cubs winning the World Series!  What did you think I was talking about?  Even though this has been a month of tough beats and miraculous victories I'd like to introduce you to Will and Zach!  Two winners if  ever there were.

Will and Zach were married at The Omni Royal in a manner that reflected the genuine souls that they are.  They had a beautiful ceremony followed by a fantastic Second Line through the streets, led by the one and only, Kinfolk Brass Band.

I'm quite sure that they will thumb their noses at me for mentioning the Cubs since they reside in St. Louis.  However, I'm sure they would agree that their wedding was another great underdog tale that was years in the making.  Which will be one of my greatest pleasures to witness.

Respect and admiration is what I have for these gentleman and it is all they've ever shown to me from day 1!  I will always root for the underdogs and the long shots.  Anyone who has to fight for what they want can consider me on board!

Cheers,

Titus

Greta & Nick - GIGGITY, GIGGITY, GIGG-A-TY!

If you've been hiding under a rock for the last decade or so you should catch on to this posts title as the now infamous character from the animated tv show Family Guy. Why am I telling you this?  I know if you're a regular follower of my work, blogs or everyday shenanigans that I have faith in the fact you're well aware of that quote.

What on god's green glorious earth does that saying have to do with this smitten, ear to ear grinning couple?  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!  I just think it's freaking hilarious.  But also when I go back through my favorite images of this New York Power Couple I realize how infectious there smiles were to me.  Every aspect of their wedding catered to their individuality.  From (possibly the greatest wedding vows I've ever heard) there tear jerking and down right funny as hell ceremony to my first chance at working in the pristine and new New Orleans Ace Hotel. To an absolute brilliant and exhausting second line that parted Bourbon Street like the police at the stroke of midnight on Fat Tuesday!

Greta & Nick will always have my admiration.  In a world of conformity overload they did it exactly the way they wanted to.  These are the results I think Frank SInatra was getting at when he said, "I did it my way".  Many many many happy future endeavors and enjoy a life of obnoxiously big grins that stretch from ear to ear!

Cheers,

Titus

This is how you NOLA!

Ladies and Gentleman meet my friends Ali & Joe Cantino.  These two smiley faced beauties braved an awful lot of joy dampening opposition on the day of their wedding.  Instead of crying like little bare assed babies they NOLA'ed up and drank and smiled and danced and sang!!  MY HEROES!

The rain didn't keep these two down.  The cool breeze added into the rain didn't stop them.  When you keep a positive outlook as they did then NOLA, as they say, "Will Love You Back"!   And love them back it did my friends!  Ali and Joe's happy go lucky attitude was reflected in their friends and family!  We ate!  We Drank!  WE NOLA'ed!!!!!

Thanks be to the greatness of Ali and Joe!  And Dennis kicked some ass too!

Cheers,

Titus

"And if you're drinkin' well, you know That you're my friend and I say I think I'll have myself a beer"-- Reel Big Fish

I have great respect for the select individuals of the world who can hold their own in the vast world of drink.  Sara and Mark would be two people who fall into that category!  It's a respectable quality in my opinion.

When Sara inquired about my services we three decided to meet at a local watering hole to have a few pints and get to know one another and be certain that we were a good fit for their upcoming wedding.  As we proceeded to order round after round I noticed these two were indulging in some high alcohol content fueled spirits.  Sara started reminding me of one of my favorite bad ass female characters played by Karen Allen from a timeless classic Raiders of the Lost Ark.  You know the scene!  The one where she out drinks the big Nepalese dude.  Epic movie making!!  Please let it be noted that these two are not being depicted as beer swilling fools! HAHA! They are the epitome of class!  The three of us were merely enjoying ourselves!

All power drinking aside these two lovers of barley wine had a brilliant December wedding with great weather, a fantastic ceremony and a second line for the ages!  Thanks for the great photos and Let's get drink sometime you two!

Cheers,

Titus
