Lisa & Greg....We Now Return to Your Wedding Already in Progress on the Sun!
Whole World....Meet Lisa & Greg! Lisa & Greg.....The Whole World! Let's just bypass all the sweet innocent compliments and pleasantries because this couple, my stalwart and dedicated blog aficionado's, are the coolest cats and down to earth knuckleheads I've met in a long time and quite frankly, they're so much fun I seriously believe they'd be more comfortable if I sat here and busted their chops as opposed to the kissy kissy fluffy bunny flag waving descriptions that I had ready about them for this blog.
Nope! Considering the first time that I met Lisa & Greg at Mojo coffee, the three of us were blah, blah, blah-ing away. Going through the specific details of start times, locations and making sure their photographer was properly weened off his whiskey for the week as to ensure his prompt and well groomed appearance at Hotel Mazarin. Yes it was a lengthy and in depth chat. The kind of chat that shared a few laughs but also we all proved that we weren't afraid to touch on the big ticket life items. Such as our common love for the group of gypsy punks commonly known as Gogol Bordello. For those of you keeping score at home that would bethe name of a band. A very loud, energetic and sweaty band at that. Which almost on cue I had realized whilst sipping my 1000 degree hot latte outside chatting with my cool as cucumbers new clients, whom the two of were positioned oh so gently under an overhang with plenty of shade. It was their comfort that immediately sparked my receptors into realizing I had been sitting directly under the blazing hot morning sun and now to accompany B.O.B(bright orange ball) I had been slowly trying to raise my core temperature to that of molten lava to balance my sizzling egg cooking five-head.
It was a good chuckle. At least for Lisa and Greg it was. Now I must admit I usually connect easily with people who can't pass up the opportunity to giggle at the irritating misfortunes of others even if they're laughing at yours truly. It was all in good fun but the great and powerful mystic of mischief and misery in the sky isn't without a sense of humor. Fast forward to the October wedding day of my pals who also happen to be two of the clearly capable cleaner-uppers into fancy attire that I have yet to witness. That means they both looked dope people! Keep Up! Any who, back to the sense of humor statement and why it ties into my extremely weak story. You know what, here's the cliff's notes version y'all, You heard me say it was October. You heard the coffee story? Right! Ok well holy flipping October reading of Dante's habanero Inferno hell was it about as hot as you could possibly think a day to be when over a massive portion of the good earth humans were enjoying a cool breeze and leaves changing colors. Thankfully for all of us Greg and Lisa had an outdoor ceremony, ;) but in good fashion it was over and done with quickly but not so quick that their vows were any less poignant. Now brothers and sisters I will say I really did enjoy the intimacy of their wedding which short and sweet. As it was, it started making several people leak from the eyes, however there was no damn way I could've told the difference between their sweat or their tears so we just kept on rolling along.
When the day of fun and fever blisters neared the end I couldn't have felt better about the amazing shots we got of Lisa & Greg. Fortune smiled one last time for us in the way of cooling off a bit enough to sweat a normal amount during the kick ass second line to Pat O's. My new friends, being the kind and gentle souls they are graciously invited me in for drinks but I couldn't help but notice that my blood type at that particular moment was mostly Sand Positive so one drink would've sucked up the last morsel of moisture clinging to my love handles. I took this time to fade off graciously down the center of Saint Peter street. It wasn't a half bad attempt at imitating an old cowboy movie as our hero walks off into the unknown and just like in those old movies I strolled down the darkened road littered with the littered snoring bloated bags of twenty somethings sleeping in their own sick as well as cheers of HEY GIRL!! Ah, the classics never get old. Lisa & Greg, thank you so much for your uplifting spirits! I had a great time! Y'all are aces! See you at the next Gogol Bordello show!
Cheers,
Titus
